Getting started with Git

The git repositories go in the /git directory on this server. The server and the repositories are backed up every night.

The git directory contains three subdirectories: paper, code, and user.

The paper and code folders are intended for the collaborative work on papers, codes, etc.

In the user directory each user has his or her own directory and can create repositories, etc.

For an introduction to Git and its funtionality, see the ProGit Book available for download or view the help in this Wiki.
